Acceptable Use Policy
Rules for using PaperJSX services, commercial components, license systems, and hosted features.
Summary
Do not use PaperJSX to break the law, infringe rights, attack systems, distribute malware, expose secrets, bypass license controls, or misuse commercial components. This Policy supplements the Terms of Service.
1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to PaperJSX accounts, website, documentation, license services, hosted features, support channels, Commercial Components, private package access, and integrations.
Open-source package use remains governed by the applicable open-source license, but your use of PaperJSX accounts, hosted services, commercial entitlements, and support must follow this AUP.
2. Do not break the law
You must not use PaperJSX to violate applicable law, regulations, sanctions, export-control rules, privacy laws, intellectual-property laws, or third-party rights.
You must not use PaperJSX from a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions, or by or for a person or entity subject to applicable sanctions restrictions.
3. Do not infringe rights
You must not use PaperJSX to create, upload, publish, distribute, or process content that infringes copyright, trademark, trade secret, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights.
You are responsible for source materials, fonts, logos, templates, media, code, data, and generated outputs you use with PaperJSX.
4. Do not submit sensitive data unnecessarily
Do not submit secrets, credentials, access tokens, private keys, payment card data, government identifiers, protected health information, special-category data, or confidential customer data to hosted features or support unless necessary, authorized, and protected by appropriate safeguards.
Local package execution may process your own data in your environment. You are responsible for securing that environment and deciding what data to process locally.
5. Do not attack systems
You must not:
- probe, scan, or test PaperJSX systems without authorization;
- access or attempt to access another customer’s account, license, package access, Customer Content, or data;
- introduce malware, destructive code, or supply-chain attacks;
- overload, disrupt, degrade, or bypass the Service;
- circumvent rate limits, security controls, authentication, package-access controls, license checks, or entitlement systems;
- scrape, harvest, or systematically extract website, documentation, account, package, or license data except as permitted by law or documented APIs.
Good-faith vulnerability reports should be sent to security@paperjsx.com.
6. Do not misuse Commercial Components or license keys
You must not:
- share, resell, publish, or redistribute Commercial Components or license keys;
- commit license keys or private package tokens to public repositories;
- bypass, patch, emulate, disable, or tamper with license validation or capability gates;
- use Commercial Components after your entitlement expires;
- use another customer’s license key or entitlement;
- create package mirrors, forks, wrappers, templates, or hosted services that expose Commercial Components to unauthorized users;
- use Commercial Components to build a competing document-generation, presentation-generation, or PaperJSX-compatible product.
7. Do not abuse package distribution or support channels
You must not use PaperJSX package names, examples, support, issue trackers, documentation comments, or community channels for spam, phishing, malware distribution, impersonation, harassment, or deceptive activity.
Do not submit bug reports or support attachments containing data you do not have authority to share.
8. High-risk uses
PaperJSX is not designed for life-safety, emergency-response, weapons, medical diagnosis, credit, insurance, legal determinations, hiring decisions, or other high-risk uses where failure or incorrect output could cause serious harm unless a signed agreement expressly permits that use and appropriate safeguards are in place.
Generated outputs should be reviewed before use, especially where accuracy, compliance, accessibility, or safety matters.
9. Reporting abuse
Report abuse to abuse@paperjsx.com. Include:
- the relevant URL, package, account, license, repository, or hosted feature;
- a description of the issue;
- why you believe it violates this AUP;
- your contact information;
- any supporting evidence.
Copyright reports should follow the Copyright and Content Reporting Policy.
10. Enforcement
If we believe this AUP has been violated, we may:
- investigate the account, license, hosted feature, package access, or report;
- remove, disable, restrict, or preserve content;
- suspend or revoke license keys, private package access, hosted features, or accounts;
- require remediation;
- terminate access;
- notify affected parties, platforms, or authorities where appropriate or legally required.
Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to cure. We may act immediately for urgent security, legal, abuse, license, payment, or safety risks.
11. Changes
We may update this AUP. We will post the updated version and notify affected customers of material changes at least 30 days before they take effect, unless legal, security, or platform requirements require faster action.
