Cookie Policy
Cookies and similar technologies used by PaperJSX.
Summary
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate PaperJSX, keep users signed in, protect against abuse, remember preferences, understand product usage, and debug errors. We do not use third-party advertising cookies and do not sell or share personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising.
1. What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy covers cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, pixels, SDK storage, and similar technologies used on paperjsx.com, documentation pages, account portals, license portals, and hosted PaperJSX features.
PaperJSX packages running locally or in CI generally do not use browser cookies unless you build a browser application that uses them.
2. Strictly necessary technologies
These are required to provide authentication, security, licensing, checkout redirects, and service functionality.
| Technology | Purpose | Typical lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Authentication/session cookies | Keep you signed in to the account or license portal | Session to 30 days |
| CSRF/security tokens | Prevent cross-site request forgery and abuse | Session |
| License portal storage | Maintain login state, license-management state, or checkout return state | Session to 30 days |
Cloudflare cookies such as __cf_bm where enabled |
Bot management, DDoS protection, and security | Usually minutes to session |
| Sentry trace identifiers where enabled | Error tracing and diagnostics | Session |
You cannot opt out of strictly necessary technologies through our cookie banner. Blocking them in your browser may break the Service.
3. Functional technologies
These remember preferences and improve usability.
| Technology | Purpose | Typical lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Theme or docs preference storage | Remember light/dark mode, layout, or documentation preferences | Up to 1 year |
| Locale or region preference | Remember language or region choices | Up to 1 year |
| Recently used organization or workspace | Improve navigation in account or license portals | Up to 1 year |
4. Analytics and diagnostics
Where enabled, we use analytics and diagnostics to understand product usage, improve documentation, identify broken flows, monitor performance, and debug errors.
| Provider | Purpose | Typical data |
|---|---|---|
| PostHog | Product analytics for website, documentation, account portal, or hosted features | Pseudonymous events, page views, feature events, device/browser metadata |
| Sentry | Error and performance monitoring | Error stack traces, browser/device metadata, performance traces, limited user identifiers |
We do not use analytics for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
5. Your choices
Where required, we provide a cookie banner or preference control for non-essential cookies and similar technologies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser.
Blocking cookies may log you out or prevent account, license, checkout, or hosted features from working correctly.
6. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) as an opt-out signal for sale/share where applicable and as a request to disable non-essential analytics where technically feasible.
We do not respond to browser-level Do Not Track signals because there is no consistent legal or technical standard for them.
7. Subprocessors
Providers that may set or receive cookie-related data are listed on the Subprocessors page, including Cloudflare, PostHog, and Sentry where enabled.
8. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy. We will post the updated version and notify affected customers of material changes at least 30 days before they take effect, unless legal, security, or platform requirements require faster action.
